It's been a long time since Valve has updated their unique first person action-puzzle game Portal. But today the Steam web site said the 2007 released game got a new update. Or did it? Officially the update note states, "Changed radio transmission frequency to comply with federal and state spectrum management regulations." Which makes no sense at all . . . if this were the real world we are talking about. After all this is Portal.
And then there's the fact that the game's Steam achievements have been increased by one. The page shows a new one that states, "Transmission Received." with a question mark where the description should go. Steam's forum pages for Portal have seen people checking out a in-game radio (seen above) that does . . . something to unlock the achievement when you put in on the red button in the first level. It also seems to be putting out messages in Morse code. So what's going on? Is Valve prepping for a major Portal update? Maybe its a teaser to a Portal 2 announcement? Stay tuned.

Has anyone here played to the end? At the end instead of, after blowing up GLaDOS, just sitting there outside, You are dragged away by this mysterious metal something, you don't actually see it though.Posted at 7:50AM on Mar 10th 2010 by Sean
