Technically an invite to beta test a PC game should not have any monetary value, but the multiplayer beta for StarCraft II is apparently rare enough at this early stage that some folks are looking to get some money out of a particular item that could lead to getting a beta invite for the upcoming sci-fi RTS game.
In October of 2008, Blizzard held their BlizzCon event and as part of the attendees' goodie bag there was a card with a rub-off code that would give the person access to "a future, unannounced Blizzard title". Now some people who saved that card are attempting to sell them on eBay. At the moment the highest price for such a card is $450; the lowest we have seen is $51. A few people are attempting to sell their StarCraft II email beta invite via eBay but that's a bit more dubious. As always, proceed with these kinds of deals at your own risk.
