Windows 7 overtakes Windows Vista in latest Steam hardware survey
Combining both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, Windows 7 now has a 28.53 percent slice of the OS pie in the survey while Windows Vista's slice has 27.91 percent of Steam users. Now the Windows 7 numbers may be somewhat inflated due to the fact that some of Steam's users may still be using the free release candidate version of the OS that was released in 2009. That version will begin to become unusable in March and will shut down completely in June. It's also worth noting that the 32 bit version of Windows XP blows both Windows 7 and Vista away with 41.15 percent of Steam users still using the now 10 year old OS in their PCs.

I got Windows 7 as soon as it came it, Got the Family Pack and upgraded my Moms system vista 32 bit-to- Windows 7 32bit, as for me I went vista 64bit-to- WINDOWS 7 64 bit... Very nice.
Still got one more upgrade for my brother..
Oh and Yeah I'm the only Techi/Gamer in my household... I system is definitly worth it. All my older titles work on it.Posted at 6:31PM on Feb 9th 2010 by Gamer XoverY
XP to Win7 64bit was a big leap. Huge improvement altogether. OS is more responsive and exiting games(cleaning up) became a lot faster.
Its a tad pricey though which might explain why so many haven't got it yet. Eventually everyone will I think. Posted at 1:39AM on Feb 10th 2010 by frags
But when will Valve grant me my deepest wish and get Steam running on OSX. I know many games wouldn't be playable on Mac, but it's a big deal for the ones that are. Posted at 3:26AM on Feb 18th 2010 by Jon

I have Windows 7 on my laptop. While I prefer it over Vista, the only reason I haven't gotten it on my gaming PC is how glitchy some older PC titles are. If I ever decide to get a DX 11 enabled card, then I'll most likely go with Windows 7.Posted at 4:44PM on Feb 9th 2010 by that guy rom
