The indie spirit of developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment continues as they work on their sci-fi FPS-RTS hybrid game Natural Selection 2. The developer has been pretty shy about releasing actual media from the game but this weekend they posted a brief gameplay trailer on YouTube.
The pre-alpha footage, which can be seen after the jump, shows off some space marine action which includes showing off some auto-cannon action. It also shows some brief alien battle action that really has some teeth behind it. As we have reported before, the developer is letting its in-house level editor be released for anyone who pre-orders the game. Natural Selection 2 is due for release later this year.

I don't know about this game but tremulous has been around since 2003, and if you ever play tremulous you will see that this game is a direct copy of tremulous. Posted at 12:51AM on Feb 10th 2010 by Reed

Um, they said "pre-alpha"? That's such BS. If the game runs and it's not beta, it's an alpha version. Come on. Pre-alpha to me means that there is no proof of concept yet, but clearly there is one here.
I have no idea what this game is about, but usually when you're 1st person, you see through the eyes. Does that mean that little creature has eyes in its mouth?Posted at 2:14PM on Feb 8th 2010 by Eric
