Gas Powered Games to announce "next big thing" on Feb. 15
So let the speculation begin? Could we see a new game in the Dungeon Siege series? Perhaps we will hear about Demigod 2? Maybe something totally new. It's not likely to be a sequel to Space Siege which is considered to be the developer's one failure of a game, at least in terms of sales.

Well a new Dungeon Siege 3 wouldn't necessarily have to go up against Diablo III.
My guess is that it IS another Dungeon Siege game. Either that or a completely new IP. Also, I know Space Siege didn't do all that great, but I actually liked it. I wonder if the game being on sale back when Steam had their Christmas deals had any impact on the sales of the game.Posted at 11:49AM on Feb 3rd 2010 by that guy rom
I don't get Chris Taylor. The one thing that separated the original Dungeon Siege (beyond the lack of repetitive dungeons) was the multiple-party system. Why change it?
Another difference: Diablo was very repetitive and had very little story. Dungeon Siege was a long, story-driven linear but non-repetitive trip through the land of Ehb- you went from forest to mines, to mountains, to ice world, to swampland, to caves, the desert, the city, the castle, and finally the castle dungeon- the environments and creatures you encountered were varied, which kept the gameplay fresh all the way through. If they could reproduce that experience, they'd have another winner. Unfortunately, they dropped that mechanic in favor of a warping back and forth trying to cure some stupid plague in the sequel, and then fight some mercenaries, and then their boss... it was stupid.
Dungeon Siege III will suck. Stop it, Chris... you're not Blizzard. Go back and make another Total Annihilation (btw, Supreme Commander is NOT TA).Posted at 1:02PM on Feb 3rd 2010 by Cornelius

I guess I'll hope for Dungeon Siege 3 but that probably won't happen. It would be suicidal for them to try to go up against Diablo 3.
