As part of their big press event this week publisher Paradox Interactive announced that they have gotten the publishing rights to Magicka, a fantasy action-RPG from Sweden based developer Arrowhead Games Studios. The game will be released via digital download sometime later in 2010.
IGN has some details on the game which they say is aiming to parody a number of the typical Diablo-style gameplay conventions. For example, the game supports four player multiplayer but friendly fire will always be on. That means spells could hurt or even kill other players off which could generate a few giggles. With Diablo III's release well into the future this game could help ease the pain while also making us laugh.

You shouldn't take gaming so seriously Human, it's just a fucking game, and supposed to be fun.
This sounds really great, and I know I also have gamer friends who might get peeved by a FF death or two, and that's why I don't play co-op games with those jerk holes.Posted at 1:54PM on Jan 22nd 2010 by Jose

Getting other players hard would generate awkward silence in the circles I game with, not giggles.Posted at 1:21PM on Jan 22nd 2010 by Human1
