Borderlands sells over 100,000 copies via digital download?

Gearbox Software's hit first person shooter Borderlands was perhaps one of the few bright lights in the fall release schedule of its publisher Take Two Interactive. Now IGN is reporting that the game has sold over one million units in North America since its late October release.

What's even more interesting is that according to unnamed sources, IGN claims the game has been downloaded over 100,000 times since its release (we assume that's with legal sources like Steam, Direct2Drive and others). The article also hints about plans for more free updates and paid downloadable content for the game, with Gearbox's Randy Pitchford saying, "There will be some announcements on both fronts soon, I expect."
