Rumor: No Half-Life 2: Episode 3 in 2010
Now Cinema Blend is reporting that the new print issue of Game Informer magazine claims there will not be any new Half-Life game released in 2010. That means it will be at least three years, if not more, before we might learn what happens to Gordon Freeman. Last June, Valve head man Gabe Newell claimed there were good reasons for not talking about their plans for Episode 3 yet. Hopefully we will learn those reasons soon.

This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I mean Valve is so busy working on Left 4 Dead 3 and Team Fortress 2 hats that they don't have time for the game that put them, as a legit video game developer, on the map.Posted at 1:42PM on Jan 19th 2010 by thatguyrom
Ignoring the sarcastic posts above, I'm guessing that they're working on a new game pack like the Orange Box. I'm guessing a set of games that have been unannounced or disappeared are going to be in it:
- Half Life 2: Episode 3
- Portal 2
- Black Mesa
- Counter Strike 2/Day of Defeat 2 (maybe?)Posted at 1:50PM on Jan 19th 2010 by Kevin
I have a feeling that development of Episode 3 might have gone into an entire new Half Life game on a new engine. That's what my instinct tells me. I feel Gabe hinting there is a good reason for this sort of gives away perhaps new tech involved(hence new engine).Posted at 1:53PM on Jan 19th 2010 by frags
BAH! im gonna have gray hair before i find out what happens to gordon next. and what the deal is with the g man. screw these guys. i think episodic content is a bunch of malarky if its handled this way. in fact, i hate it. why dont they just release a whole game. when it comes out of course i am gonna buy it. but it doesnt mean i wont pin them down and poo on their chests if i see them in the street. Valve had to suspend Half-Life Episode 3 so they could add Duke Nukem as a playable character.Posted at 1:22PM on Jan 19th 2010 by bioadam
