Rumor: No Half-Life 2: Episode 3 in 2010

It's been well over two years since the release of The Orange Box and as a consequence the release of Valve's Half-Life 2 Episode 2. The second of three announced episodic continuations of Valve's first person shooter was packaged in The Orange Box but since its release Valve has not talked at all about the status of the third and final chapter in the trilogy.

Now Cinema Blend is reporting that the new print issue of Game Informer magazine claims there will not be any new Half-Life game released in 2010. That means it will be at least three years, if not more, before we might learn what happens to Gordon Freeman. Last June, Valve head man Gabe Newell claimed there were good reasons for not talking about their plans for Episode 3 yet. Hopefully we will learn those reasons soon.
