After being semi-revealed last month, Digital Illusions has now officially confirmed that the PC multiplayer beta for Battlefield Bad Company 2 will begin on January 28 and lasts until February 25. The beta will center on the Port Valdez map which is a snow enviroment level . It supports up to 32 players for the Rush gameplay mode. The map will also have a number of drivable vehicles including Battle Tanks.

Pre-ordering the game is the best way to ensure you will be able to get into the beta although specific details and supporting retailers have yet to be announced. The beta will use Punkbuster for anti-cheating features. However there won't be any publicly released server tiles or mod tools for the beta. There's also no word yet if the beta will be released via Steam although DICE states, "We are however working with Steam to have the Public PC Beta available on Steam.".
