Dragon Age Origins Awakening confirmed for $39.99 price for March 16
The expansion pack adds the new land of Amaranthine to the game as players will control a Grey Warden Commander that has to rebuild the Gray Wardens following the events of the original game. Of course things aren't that easy as you have to deal with new theats including an "evolved, intelligent breed of darkspawn." You will be able to import your character in the original game to use in Awakening or start a new one from scratch. New spells, skills, party members, a rise in the level cap and more will all be a part of the expansion.

Well, the game just came out a couple of months ago, so it will probably take a good few months (maybe even a year) until epic mods show up. That's all based on my assumption that maybe the game will have the same modding community fan base that previous Bioware games (such as Neverwinter Nights) had.
As for the expansion pack, I can't wait. I doubt I'll buy it anytime soon after it's released because there are plenty of other games that I have to worry about in the upcoming months. Also, it's good to see Bioware back in the expansion pack game, since the last game developed by them that had an expansion pack that I can remember, was Neverwinter Nights.
Also, 40 bones is a good price. I'm expecting a good, solid 20 hour playthrough, which can't be said for most 60 dollar console games.Posted at 11:12AM on Jan 5th 2010 by thatguyrom

Can someone pleases explain to me how will this expansion work? I do not really understand it very well. Is it a downloadable content? Because I have the original game on PS3, so i do not understand if it is an extra game apart. If it is how are we supposed to import our original character.Posted at 7:38PM on Jan 12th 2010 by Lequerique

I know its not fair to apply time spent to money spent ratios on games but since the quality of the product is almost guaranteed the time of the campaign would be my biggest factor in determining when to purchase this game(not if).
Adding a new land is kinda misleading as this game is heavily instanced and there were plenty of places to go to in the land of Ferelden itself. Also, I am surprised there aren't any good user mods out yet but the mod tools were very buggy & have caused plenty of corruption in my save files. In any case want to know more details about this expansion before deciding when to purchase this. Posted at 10:14AM on Jan 5th 2010 by Arnie
