Last spring, Bethesda Softworks announced that they would be publishing Fallout: New Vegas, a stand alone continuation of their Fallout franchise from developer Obsidian Entertainment. Since then there's been little info at about the game but a post on GameSpot's web forums claims to have new info about the title culled from an upcoming Game Informer story.
The forum post goes into some detail about the game which includes claims of being able to select characters with different back stories (a la Dragon Age Origins) along with the fact that the wastelands of the new game are so big that there will be vehicle support. Since it is New Vegas, there will be some kind of gambling support including being able to gamble and participate in some kind of arena fights, according to the post. Big Download contacted Bethesda Softworks but their PR head Pete Hines told us they don't comment on rumors.

That sounds awesome and all (if true), but good lord, can't Obsidian come up with a game mechanic that Bioware hasn't used in a previous game?Posted at 1:38PM on Jan 4th 2010 by thatguyrom
