All of the previous Medal of Honor games from Electronic Arts were set in World War II and while there was lots of death in the games the violence was sanitized enough that all the games got a "T" rating from the ESRB. Now that the next game in the shooter series is heading to a modern day conflict in Afghanistan, players can expect a more adult attitude.
The game's official web site has posted up a brief Q&A with its Executive Producer Greg Goodrich where he confirms, "This will be the very first (M) rated Medal of Honor." This switch isn't unprecedented. Activision's Call of Duty games were all "T" rated until Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's content got a "M" label. Goodrich also commented on the PC version of the new Medal of Honor game, saying, " We take the PC version of our game as seriously as we do any other version." While rather generic we have to think that EA has been listening to all of the complaints from PC users about a lack of dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2.

When are people (mainly the ESRB) gonna reallize these ratings mean nothing, if someone wants a game and the game is only sold to 18+ .. whats to stop them from getting someone they know that is old enough to purchase the game for them?
Same goes for the Internet, and the way website's censor anything they can. Its not your business if minors are getting online without Parental consent. Therefor all this censoring bullshit is for nothing, and rely's on the Parents to make good judgement, whether or not their child should even be on the Internet.Posted at 8:55PM on Dec 16th 2009 by pcgamer
