A lot of folks thought we might get an official announcement of Star Wars Battlefront 3 at last night's Video Game Awards. But the action game sequel, still not officially announced by publisher LucasArts, might still be in play. Fan site Battlefront3.net claims they got an email from a casting director Chris Marazzo who told them, " . . . Battlefront 3 is also in development. It was by far the most fun and coolest casting I ever worked on."
The first two games in the Battlefront series, developed by the now shut down Pandemic Studios, were highly successful in terms of sales. Free Radical Design was supposedly working on Battlefront 3 but LucasArts is rumored to have pulled the game from the developer last year. The developer was close to shutting down before being acquired by Crytek.

Agreed! It's taken waaaaay too long for this game to come out! And every development company should be wanting to make this as they can make tons of money off it.Posted at 11:19PM on Dec 14th 2009 by JonnyDub

I don't know why it's been so hard to get SWBF3 made. The first 2 games were the best selling SW games of all time. It should've been a no brainer to get Pandemic working on it first thing after SBWF2 came out at the end of 2005. It defies common sense that SWBF3 wasn't out years ago. All this flopping of companies working on it is frustrating.Posted at 4:42PM on Dec 13th 2009 by RogueJedi86
