As expected, the next Team Fortress 2 update will center on two of the remaining character classes in Valve's multiplayer shooter that have not yet received unlockable weapons upgrades; the Soldier and Demoman. Not only will each class get three new weapons-items but Valve's Robin Walker states that the update will also add new maps, achievements and "surprises".

The biggest surprise? A secret seventh weapon that will be given to one of the two classes. So which one will receive this still unknown device? That's up to TF2 players. If Demomen kill more Soldiers by the end of the week online they get the weapon, but not if the Solider class ends up killing more Demomen. Walker states, "What if some of you try to cheat to bump the numbers? We'll know. (Though we also know many of you won't be able to resist trying anyway.)". You can expect more updates on the Soldier-Demoman War, plus reveals of the other weapons and items in the update, on the Team Fortress 2 site. There's no word yet on when the update will be released.
