Spike TV's Geoff Keighley has been using his Twitter account to reveal more games that will make their debut at the cable channel's Video Game Awards on December 12. He has just posted up word that one of those games will be Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which presumably will be the next game in the long running action-adventure series from developer/publisher Ubisoft.
Aside from the title that's all that's being revealed at the moment but you can likely expect some kind of teaser trailer to be shown during the awards telecast. Ubisoft rebooted the franchise last year their latest game in the series, simply called Prince of Persia, and of course Disney will release the movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in theaters on Memorial Day weekend of 2010.
Update: Ubisoft has now sent an email saying the game is due out this May for consoles and handhelds. There's no word yet on a PC port.
