@1 id announced that Rage won't have them either. There is clearly a growing trend amongst the heavyweights.

MW2 won't force all other games to not have dedicated servers, but it will show that games with big enough franchise/hype/fanbase will sell on the PC regradless of what the quality is. So for all the other anticipated titles, the developers can do a poor job and still know the buyers will bend over for them. MW2 wasn't a "poor job" of a port because IW was lazy. They actually implemented dedicated servers (see developer console hack), but never released shipped it because Activision wanted to milk PC users for DLC.Posted at 5:18PM on Nov 20th 2009 by Cornelius
