It's beginning to look like Valve's definition of releasing the demo for Left 4 Dead 2 today meant, "in just one US time zone". We were expecting that the demo for pre-orders of Valve's zombie shooter sequel would have been unlocked and released via Steam by now. However, it's looking like the demo might not become available until late tonight for US residents.
Some people on the Steam forums have shown photos of the coupon when they pre-ordered the game from GameStop that indicated the demo wouldn't be released until 11 pm Pacific Time tonight. If that's true, that means people in the Eastern Time zone won't get the demo unlocked until 2 am Wednesday. We have emailed Valve to get a better sense of when they plan to unlock the demo for Steam users.
Update: Valve has now posted word on their Steam site that the PC demo will be released on Wednesday. There's no explanation as to why there is a delay.

Yeah, it's still saying "Pre-load complete; unreleased" for me. And mine updated this morning when I started me computer, too.Posted at 12:08PM on Oct 28th 2009 by Eric
