Modern Warfare 2 to have third person viewpoint in multiplayer
If the fact that there will be no dedicated servers and maybe no support for mods in the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 hasn't scared you off from Infinity Ward's upcoming first person shooter, this likely won't either. Our sister site Joystiq has confirmed that the game will allow players to play Modern Warfare 2 in a third person viewpoint.
This perspective is not apparently for the single player campaign, however. According to Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling the third person view can only be played in multiplayer private matches or third person viewpoint playlists. And if you play in such a match everyone will be in third person to make things equal. So basically this sound like just another multiplayer variable rather than something that's designed to change the gameplay completely. It will be interesting to see just how many matches are using this mode.
