Modern Warfare 2 PC to use Steamworks features
Modern Warfare 2's use of Steamworks will include having Steam auto-update the game (no more manual patches) along with using Valve's VAC system for multiplayer anti-cheating (previous games in the Call of Duty series have used Punkbuster). Modern Warfare 2 will also use Steam Cloud to store save games and multiplayer persistence and allow PC gamers to play via those save files from any PC with Steam installed. Finally Modern Warfare 2 will contain 50 Steam achievements that can be unlocked while playing the game.
Now if we can get Infinity Ward to also offer PC gamers dedicated servers and SDK mod tools for Modern Warfare 2, like Valve does for all its games, we'd be all set.

Awesome news! I love steam! Can't wait for this game!Posted at 5:30PM on Oct 23rd 2009 by Alex
This sucks VAC is a joke when it comes to cheat detection, i liked punkbuster and AON and PB Bans and all of those communities. and no dedicated servers means I will NOT be buying this game.... if i wanted a X-Box live experience, i would buy an X-Box. I always liked running my own server, and having my own map rotation, and having a home for my clan to play on.
But looking on the bright side of things that is $60 more in my pocket. Posted at 6:21PM on Oct 23rd 2009 by Chris
