BioWare is known for their incredible role-playing games. You name a few good PC RPGs of the past decade, and chances are most of them will have been developed by BioWare. Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, and Knight of the Old Republic are all among their catalog of stellar titles. Now they are continuing the line with a new game, Dragon Age: Origins. It's hard not to get excited over a BioWare RPG, certainly, but it is worth noting that many of their RPGs re-use old mechanics while tacking on a very thin layer of change, such as the shooting of Mass Effect or the brawling of Jade Empire. Maybe it's time Dragon Age: Origins got knocked down a notch or two.
