A military shooter, the latest Star Wars game and three downloadable titles are the highlights in new PC games for the next week:
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising:
Codemasters developed this military shooter sequel on their own (the first game was made by Bohemia Interactive). The game is set in the near future where US and Chinese forces fight over a fictional island. Look for 70 weapons in the full game, support for realistic ballistics and multiplayer for co-op and deathmatch modes.
Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heroes:
Khrome Studios teams up with
LucasArts for this third person action game based on the hit CGI animated TV series. The game also supports Games For Windows Live which means added support for features such as achievements.
Cities Xl:
Monte Cristo Games' merger of a city simulation with a MMO game launches in the US this week (via download or mail order). The game allows players to build their dream city but also go online and interact with other players in a massive 'planet' with thousands of cities.
Lucidity: LucasArts has a second game being released this week. The first all original title created by LucasArts in the last several years, this downloadable puzzle game has the player trying to solve puzzles in order to keep the main character moving in her fantasy-styled 2D world.
Fatale: The latest game from indie developer
Tale of Tales has something to do with the legend of Salone and the Oscar Wilde play of the same name. Beyond that little else is known about the game but tone of the
Silent Hill artists is contributing to the game's character design.
