Borderlands coming to Steam; PC version will have exclusive features

Even though Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has stated for the record that he feels Valve should separate their PC game download business Steam into its own company, at the moment Steam is the big 800 pound gorilla in that market. So it's no shock to learn that their upcoming FPS-RPG hybrid game Borderlands will soon be available for pre-orders and then download via Steam.

Destructoid reports that the PC version will have a couple of small but interesting features the consoles won't have. One is a benchmark demo and the other is the ability to export the game's item cards to .jpg files so you can show your cool unique weapon drops to your friends. The PC version will naturally have the best looking graphics compared to its consoles brethren and its UI will be designed to work with a mouse. Just a few days ago it was announced that the PC version of Borderlands would ship six days after the console ports on October 26.
