Kate Mulgrew talks about Dragon Age: Origins role

Star Trek Voyager actress Kate Mulgrew is no stranger to voicing roles for games (including her own TV character Captain Janeway in the excellent FPS Star Trek Voyager Elite Force many moons ago). She is now involved in the upcoming BioWare fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins and in a new interview at Fidget she talks about her new role as the witch Flemeth.

Mulgrew states that while she's done a number of voice over roles over the years, " . . . .this particular videogame is in its own class. Very high caliber stuff. Very well written. Even beautifully written, which is why I was so drawn to it from the get-go." She also admits that she didn't look at any concept artwork on what her character looked liked, saying, "I wanted to find her in my mind. The director copped to that right away. We had a great understanding, from the instant we got into the booth, that I would find her in my imagination. And I did. It's infinitely more satisfying when that happens."

The interview with Mulgrew is several notches above what passes for the usual voice actor feature as she talks extensively about how she played her Dragon Age: Origins role.
