Batman: Arkham Asylum free content available to download

As promised, Eidos has made available the first free downloadable content for the just released PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum. The Insane Night Map Pack is only available from the Games For Windows Live Marketplace and is about 110 MB in size. The pack was released on Thursday but apparently there were some issues with some gamers being able to complete the download yesterday. Those problems appear to be addressed as we had no issues downloading and installing the map pack.

Just a reminder: the free map pack contains two new Challenge maps that are available to play immediately when installed in the game. One map, Totally Insane, takes place in Arkham's records room while the other, Nocturnal Hunter, has Batman trying to stay in the shadows while also taking out enemies.

Yes, Sam, there has been DLC releases that worked just fine. You can tell Frodo to exhale now.

Battlestations Pacific DLC, Dawn Of War II DLC, Point Lookout, Mothership Zeta, Street Fighter Costume Packs. That should be plenty to show you that the system does it right too you know. And unlike Earth 2160 on another "service", when there is problem, the GFWL tech team solves it pretty quickly...with what, 1/5 of the staff?

And you talk like other "services" never had this issue - for example, which "service" had issues with a DECADE OLD Lucasarts title that was put on its "service" this week?

Complain all you want, GFWL is taking the right steps that PC gaming needs right now. There is more to PC gaming than the same old crap we see now (MMOs, Sims, Valve/MOD community, casual game hell). There are PC gamers who want more, and with the GFWL lineup out now, you get it.

Seriously, would someone just record some chocolate milk douchefruit screaming "GFWL SUX!" in an mp3 and just link to it? You would save the rest of us some time you know. And it mean even play to James Murff's strengths.

GFWL - Whine, whine, whine; meanwhile Capcom continues to be pleased with the SALES of its GFWL enabled titles. Other companies will follow because of this, bet on it.

Holy shit, do you work for microsoft? I'm starting to see a correlation between all your comments on here. While is nice to see comments, yours really take the cake with this GFWL defense.

Also yeah, blamming mod community and Valve in the same sentence. If it wasn't for the strong mod communities, the PC gaming scene would not be as strong as it is. People buy games cause they want that game and they want the possibility of awesome mods and maps. Hell, people buy UT3 and hardly anyone plays it. WE ARE ALL WAITING FOR THE MODS.
