This Week In PC Games: September 14-20

After a fairly slow first couple of weeks in September, there's a ton of major PC games making their debut on store shelves and/or via download this week:

Batman: Arkham Asylum: Already highly acclaimed for consoles, this super hero action game from Rocksteady Studios and Eidos is released for the PC this week as the Caped Crusader has to deal with the Joker and a ton of other Arkham inmates. Look for PhysX and 3D monitor support if you have Nvidia graphics cards in your PC.

Red Faction Guerrilla: Several months after its console release, PC players finally get this latest game in the FPS series from Volition and THQ. Not only do you get the full original game where you get to blow up and destroy lots of stuff on Mars you also get some exclusive multiplayer maps and all of the DLC released for the console version out of the box.

Resident Evil 5: Capcom brings yet another of their console hits of 2009 to the PC. The latest game in the zombie-filled action game series has a little exclusive content for the PC version including "a new and improved mercenaries mode with three times as many enemies." There's also support for Nvidia's 3D Vision glasses and monitors.

Need For Speed Shift: Electronic Arts attempts to revive their long running racing game series with yet another new direction, this time with a more sim-like first person rally racing experience. UK based developer Slightly Mad Studios helped to create this game.
