An offshoot originally of GameSpy's FilePlanet site, the Direct2Drive service turns five years old today as it offers up a ton of both big and small PC games to purchase and download. For its fifth birthday the service is offering up a bunch of games that have had it's prices cut to just $5 each.
The promotion kicks off this week with a wide selection of titles from Ubisoft. THQ, and 2K Games. The titles are Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, Civilization 4, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Game of the Year Edition, X-Com Complete Bundle, Sid Meier's Railroads!, Empire Earth Gold, Far Cry, Call of Juarez and The Settlers - Heritage of Kings. The sale ends on September 14 for these titles but new ones will be put in place every week for the next month.
