The fall PC game release season begins this week with three titles; a super hero MMO, a sci-fi multiplayer shooter and an a cute looking action games from the creators of, oddly enough, the
Hitman games.
Champions Online:
Cryptic Studios' long awaited next super hero MMO (based on the long running pen-and-paper RPG series, officially launches today. The series blends in a lot of what Cryptic created for
City of Heroes (the extensive character creation tool, the fast action) with a bigger variety of locations and a more "cartoony" art style.
Section 8: Developer
Timegate Studios brings us this sci-fi shooter that looks an awful lot like a next-gen version of
Tribes. Players don one-man mech like suits and battle similar enemies across a variety of planets. One cool aspect of the game is that players "drop in" from space onto the map instead of being placed in specific spawn points. Timegate plans to support the game with its own clan and stats web site.
Mini Ninjas: Can
Io Interactive, who previously made the
Hitman games and
Kane and Lynch, make a more family friendly game? We are about to find out as publisher
Eidos releases this title where players control cute and cuddly looking ninjas who are trying to defeat an evil samurai. Hilarity ensues.
