We've been getting more and more excited about the prospects for Borderlands. Any game that combines the fast action of a first person shooter with the item drops of an action-RPG sounds good to us. However it looks like we will have to try out the game when its actually released.
Reporting from Gamescom, our sister site Joystiq reports that the game's developer Gearbox Software doesn't plan to release a free demo for Borderlands before the game ships to stores on October 20. A spokesperson for publisher 2K Games told the site, "Everyone is really, really focusing on getting the game done for release ... that's not to say there will never be a demo, just not before launch." That's too bad; having a demo ready before a game's release, especially one that's an original property, could have helped build buzz for the title.

Yeah... I'm adverse to buying stuff before I try it. Unless the reviews are crazy good I generally want to play it first (ie. fallout 3 I bought before playing, but I bought Dawn of War II after playing it). Depends I guess...Posted at 6:09PM on Aug 21st 2009 by Gripen40k
