No PC Battlefield 1943 until 2010
According to the game's producer Gordon Van Dyke the game will now be released sometime in the first quarter of 2010 for the PC. He states, "This was a hard pill to swallow, but it was absolutely needed to ensure the features and functionality that PC players have come to expect from Battlefield on PC are not missing. Things like support for DirectX 9 and 10, higher player count (up to 32-player matches), wide peripheral support i.e. Joysticks for flying, VoIP, and ranked server provider hosting." That still doesn't take the sting out of this latest PC game delay.

Yup, i agree. Very disappointed. I wont be buying it if bad company is coming out a few months later. Then again, the PC version will probably get some sort of delay :/Posted at 9:07AM on Aug 21st 2009 by Sc0tt
I agree. Absolutely ridiculous. I have an xbox and ps3, but I refuse to play an FPS on it when it's coming to PC.Posted at 9:59AM on Aug 21st 2009 by Royale
Gee, I wonder why PC sales numbers are lower than consoles, it couldn't have something to do with companies releasing the PC version MONTHS later, could it? As a multiplatform gamer I've bought console versions of games only because the PC version is still way off and other times I've already lost interest in a game by the time the PC version hits like happened with the new Bionic Commando. I was on-board with the marketing hype and totally ready to buy the game for the PC day 1 but it wasn't out day and date. When it dropped 2 months later I was wary of it due to the middling reviews and finding out it had in game advertising and thus left it on the shelf. Low PC sales are a self fulfilling prophecy when you treat the PC version like crap.

I also want to say that the delay of 1943 has already split the player base among my friends which ensures fewer of us will buy the game and those that do won't be playing it as much. If PC were day and date, we would have all jumped on the PC version and it would have been the Lan game of choice for a good long while. Now we have 3 who own it on the 360, 1 on the PS3, a few who will buy it for the PC eventually, and others who won't bother buying it at all anymore now that there won't be a strong player base among us. On the other hand, every one of us owns L4D and UT3 on PC because they were available day 1 and those games are still in regular gaming rotation for us.

Agree! I was waiting eagerly for Aug 25th, and this is what I get? I held off buying the PS3 version so could get PC one, but.... I'm gonna go buy it PS3 right now. Posted at 11:59AM on Aug 21st 2009 by Cheesus(Crust)
Yeah... I've been disappointed with pretty much everything after BF2. I just want the 'feel' of 1942 again, this game can deliver that, but it just pisses me off when they can release the console version so much earlier than the PC version. Leads me to believe their backend wasn't designed properly for scalability and now we are paying for it.
Rubbish...

Well if this is true then they can forget about my money. I might as well wait till Battlefield BadCompany 2 like most people will and I sware if they delay that game the PC communiy will turn there back on EA and Dice real quick. This kind of crap is uncalled for we made their game we made there success and this is how they repay us. Since BF 1942 console players have been envious of PC players now I think we PC players of getting sick and tired of console favortism money factors and effects of console developer lazyness.
