It looks like NCsoft could be using the week of GamesCOM to finally pull back the curtain on their plans for Guild Wars 2. The game's official web site has launched with a Flash-based teaser image that you can see above. Moreover, the game's official Twitter page is now live.

Perhaps the biggest hint that something is up come from Mike O'Brien, the current head of Guild Wars' developer ArenaNet. In a message on the Guild Wars Wiki page he states that our official first glimpse of the game "is almost here". He adds, "We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but from here on out we'll be able to provide you with more regular updates." He ends his message with this tidbit: "Stay tuned for an exciting week ahead." Consider us tuned.
