Codemasters decided to postpone the PC release of their racing game sequel DiRT 2 for the PC from September to December because they wanted to take atvantage of the upcoming DirectX11 3D graphics feature set. Now Codemasters is boasting that because of that move, DiRT 2 could set a new standard for racing game graphics.
The title's design manager Ralph Fulton told VideoGamer.com that the move to wait until the game could use DirectX11 (coming with the launch of Windows 7 in October) will make DiRT 2 "the best-looking racing game that has ever existed. Not just of the year or on PC, but has ever existed." Bold claims, but we should see if that's true by the end of the year.
