Apparently, the Team Fortress 2 team is throwing us a curveball in the next update by making it classless. You heard us right. Supposedly, the Soldier, Engineer, and Demoman all have zero chance of getting anything gameplay-related in the coming update. Valve has pulled tricks on us before, however, so there's still a slim chance that the update will contain a class update.

As for the update proper, Valve has revealed that it will contain a whopping 18 new hats and a new arena map. So far, they've shown off the bowler hat for the Spy, an ushanka for the unabashedly Russian Heavy, a fireman's hat for the Pyro, a viking hat for the Soldier and a ten-gallon hat for the Engineer. The Arena map is standard fare, taking place on a hollowed-out mountaintop.
