PC owners will have to wait a few more weeks before getting their version of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Buried in a new press release announcing that the PC port of the super hero action game will support Nvidia's PhysX in-game physics features comes word that it will now ship to stores on September 15 in the US. Europeans and Australians will get the PC port on September 18. The console versions of the Rocksteady Studios-Eidos game will still ship in late August.
If you have the correct Nvidia GeForce graphics cards in your PC and the right drivers you can enable the special physics effects in the PC version game. They include things like volumetric fog that reacts when Batman passes through and lots of objects flying around when The Dark Knight goes into combat. Special particle effects will be seen in the game as Arkham experiences "wall tiles chipping and breaking, stone pillars crumbling upon impact, and particles from breaking glass and debris shattering and falling down around Batman's feet."

Yeah! Why not patch it later! It's not like my 4850 can do PhysX anyway. Posted at 7:12PM on Aug 6th 2009 by Cheesus(Crust)
