The Sims 3 World Adventures expansion pack announced
While the core game is set in an all-American neighborhood, the World Adventures expansion pack sends your Sims on a global trip to see new sights. They will explore new (fictional) cities in ew cities in China, France, and Egypt. Along the way they can learn new skills and take part in various adventures to look for secret treasures. The expansion pack also comes with 1,000 SimPoints to use to download new content and exclusive downloadable content for the expansions will be revealed at a later date.

This is a big dissapointment because I was hoping a destination where there are beaches, then the forest and then snowy mountains like on The Sims: Vacation and The Sims 2: Bon Voage. But now you'll have no choice but to go to real places. I don't wan't real. I guess France might be a nice place to go to, but I want how it use to be like The Sims 1 and 2 just the Sims 3 version of it. Change isn't always good.
Please EA make fictional locations. I don't care that makes it similar to the The Sims 1 or 2 equivalent.
Hopefully this expansion pack will come with the interaction where sims can swim at the beach and you can buy tents. Then I'll make my sims have a vacation at one of the shores of Sunset Valley.Posted at 11:40PM on Aug 3rd 2009 by Callum
I would love to be able to have pets and different seasons again. Also, the guitar is getting boring. :) I hope this expansion does a lot to improve the basic game. I'm definitely buying it - I just hope it doesn't disappoint.Posted at 4:43PM on Aug 5th 2009 by SRDB
I'm sorry, but it really seems as if so-called "diehard" sims fans are the biggest bunch of complainers and ingrates on the planet. First they complained that the S3 base game was too small. Now here comes a game that expands it in ways beyond anyone's wildest dreams and everyone wants to complain about that because all they're worried about is what objects will be added! Geeezzzz...
This to me is the coolest idea for an EP ever, because it combines virtual travel with "adventure" and also expands your sims' universe from a small little town into the greater world. If you really use the game for your imagination and create dramas for your sims, this is a huge plus. Who wouldn't want their sims to have traveled to a cosmopolitan city or an exotic locale? To have a romantic vacation with a significant other in Paris? To go on a Tomb Raider type adventure?
Oh, wait a second... I forgot. The Sims isn't really a "game" anymore; it's just a virtual dollhouse where all you do is stuff rooms with neat objects. To heck with actual gameplay or opportunities to create fun and interesting stories with your sims! My bad.Posted at 10:23PM on Aug 5th 2009 by Sims Fan
I agree with Sims fan. WHO CARES WHAT STUFF YOU CAN GET FOR YOUR HOUSES. If you ask me the point is making fun and cool stories for your Sims instead of having online challenges to see who can have the biggest house.
To me the expansion pack looks amazingly fun. I will admit it would be sort of cool to get egyptian themed stuff but I still think that there is a whole bunch of stuff to do in the actual game. I'm sorry 'die-hard' fans, but the game is more or less about the stories and using your imagination.Posted at 7:23PM on Aug 7th 2009 by ghostbuster

I agree with Sims Fan, too. I'm a 'die hard' Sims fan also, and I play the game with a God complex, but I don't give a damn about what decorations come with a game. I'm happy with whatever comes with it. And I totally would use Egypt for a Tomb Raider adventure. To me this sounds awesome and fun, and I'm sure that modthesims2 will have stuff to download thats themed accordingly.Posted at 3:11PM on Aug 9th 2009 by chlsEp0ttr
I cant wait for this game.
instead of staying in the same town.
egypt, and all over ...
woooo!!!

hey EA, How about putting different size lots as a choice like Sims 2 PLEASE! I want to be able to place them where I want them.Posted at 10:26AM on Aug 15th 2009 by Red
If i wanted to play sims 2 expansions, id reinstall sims 2. One thing worried me after reasding many posts on the Sims 3 forums and blog sites is that EA would follow the suggestions and just remake Sims 2 with updated graphics/neighbourhood.
This news made me happy that they are doing something different.
Some concepts from sims 1/2 would work. But still, not a straight copy like many want.

I am also a die-hard sims fan since I've been playing it for years ever since the first edition came out. I think that this is going to be an exciting game add-on, and i'm looking forward to making movies in theses new locations. But, so far what I've heard about France is we'll be doing nectar-making? Similar to a minor part of the sims makin' magic? Im just not sure how thats going to turn out, and I wish there was one other location that was like an island with ancient tombs, and natives wearing grass skirts and tiki masks. I have been a die hard sims player since The Sims came out back in November of 2002. And with the transition from The Sims to The Sims 2, it took me a few expansion packs before realizing how much better it was than the original. Now that The Sims 3 is out, I am disappointed with the core game and am hoping that it expands rapidly like The Sims 2 did. However, for the time being, I will continue purchasing The Sims 3 EPs and continue to play The Sims 2 until The Sims 3 catches and surpasses its predecessors.Posted at 2:02AM on Aug 26th 2009 by Chris
I think some die hard sims3 fans are going overbord because this game is going to get better with EP's and is already awsomer than sims2 !!
Whats the matter with you people, the EA team are trying their best and all you do is mone and complain
I love the sims from November 2002 so if you have something to say say it but they are trying their best
The Sims3 fan OUT!!Posted at 9:19AM on Aug 29th 2009 by Heinrich
Okey..listen..EA is doing their best, but dont forget this is a company, meaning earning money. If they want to sell me something, I sure dont have a problem complaning if the product doesn't live up to my expectations! I think we play sims for many different reasons and thats okey! Personally I belive, if sims3 is going to be more like other online games for eksample world of warcraft etc., and the games basic will change alot from sims2, then EA will lose alot of sims fans. I'm optimistic and wait, for now I play sims2

I think its cool that the sims 3 is diffrent from the sims 1 and 2, IF I WANTED SIMS 2 GAME PLAY, I WOULD PLAY THE SIMS 2, I want new game play, I love that you can now travel to new, real places, that you could NEVER do in the sims 1&2, I would like to have some new cool decorations, but I wouldd be just fine with lots of new core game play in egypt, and china, I dont care about france though, lol, But I cant wait for the new expanion packs later on, with whole new game play!Posted at 5:40PM on Oct 1st 2009 by TheLoneThinker
Okay, so everyone has their opinion on The Sims 3 and this new expansion pack, but you have to see the point that the creators have expanded their imagination to fulfill ours. The whole point of The Sims 1/2/3 is to create a world beyond yours and, personally, I believe the creators have done just that. Who cares what your Sims' houses look like (mine all look the same when I build them), the game is about playing God to these little people you create and having fun with it. I think this new expansion pack will go beyond just that to different countries and cultures you may not know very much about and create your new way of thinking with your Sims. If you don't like this new expansion pack, then you should know that there are more to come in the future that you might like better. I, too, have played The Sims since it first came out in '02. And sure, I never cared for Makin Magic personally, but there were more and more games coming out before I realized. So all I'm trying to say is to just give it a try, if you are not happy with it, then sell it on Ebay or anything equivalent. You have to try everything once. I am a long time Sims fan, I have all the Sims games, The Sims 2 and recently the Sims 3. Is it just me or is the Sims 3 getting boring already? You enter the neighbourhood and there is nothing to do! You have already done everything! The Sims 3 World Adventures sounds fun but is the Sims 3 taking a step in the wrong direction?Posted at 3:01AM on Sep 27th 2009 by Megan
I added my comment above (No. 17) and I am sorry people, I have been reading through some of your comments and I think you are taking this the wrong way (No. 4) we all love the game! We are all Sims fans that like too play the game way too much! We do complain about a variety off stuff, the houses all look the same, need more furniture etc. But listen here, have you realised you are also complaining? hey? you are complaining about us who are complaining about the game but still love the game! So whats the point????? I am sure every single person here who has complained a tiny bit still loves it and actually has a great imagination, making drama wherever they go. We all love the idea of going on a romantic holiday in france and going on a Tomb Raider type adventure in Egypt! We all just have different oppions so why complain about us moaning if you are moaning yourself??? The world would be a terrible place if we all had the same oppions!
Anywayz I am going to deffinetly buy the game!Posted at 3:16AM on Sep 27th 2009 by Megan
When I played The Sims, I loved it. When I played The Sims 2, I loved it and couldn't go back to The Sims. Now, when I play The Sims 3, I still love it and I can't go back to The Sims 2. I think of the amount of money I have spent on these games and I think...Good job EA for sucking my money while giving me a fun way to waste my time. It sounds as if we are all going to buy it.Posted at 11:12PM on Sep 28th 2009 by Rosalyn

To me, this game sounds like a disappointment. I am a die hard Sims fan and I played it since The Sims. This game sounds a bit fun but I was hoping for more jobs and more modern objects for houses. Not Egyptian. Maybe my opinion will change when I buy it. Posted at 11:54AM on Aug 3rd 2009 by Scott
