Secret of Monkey Island remake coming via Steam on July 15

LucasArts' decision to release their classic downloadable games via Steam is just part of the story today. We've already reported that the revival of their Monkey Island franchise, Tales of Monkey Island, will begin its five part episodic series on Tuesday via developer Telltale Games. Today LucasArts announced that their previously announced The Secret of Monkey Island remake will be released via Steam on July 15.

As we mentioned last month at E3, The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition will take the original game and add all new and improved graphics along with a re-recorded musical score and sound effects. Also, New voice acting will take the place of the written dialog in the original. There's no word yet on the pricing for the new version
