We always thought the name "Merchants of Brooklyn" was an odd title for a sci-fi first person action game. Apparently so does the game's developer Paleo Entertainment. After releasing their CryEngine powered action game with that title last March as a single player game, the company quietly renanamed the game today on the Steam service with the much more generic title Drug Wars.
Drug Wars was previously the name given to Merchants of Brooklyn's recently added multiplayer mode but now that title covers both the single and multiplayer portions of the game. Today's name change also comes with a new patch for the game (automatically handled via Steam) that adds a few new features and fixes some bugs.

Drug Wars sounds generic. Merchants of Brooklyn sounds unique.Posted at 8:22PM on Jun 30th 2009 by Einhanderkiller
