Sorry PC players; no multiplayer for your Ghostbusters game
Quite frankly this is pretty appalling on the developer's part. We can't remember the last time a multiplatform game nixed PC multiplayer features while the console ports got to have that privilege. Oddly enough the PC version does require an Internet connection for authentication before you can play the totally single player experience.

Do they want people to pirate their games? I mean multiplayer is a big reason why people actually purchase games, with no multiplayer more people will be influenced to pirate this game.Posted at 4:55PM on Jun 14th 2009 by Alex
Some have mentioned that this doesn't necessarily mean that multiplayer won't be added at a later date (Through a patch or some other method), although I find it extremely odd how it wouldn't have been implemented before release if they planned to have a multiplayer feature.
I never play games online, but I can understand how this would lower sales quite drastically, and further alienate the PC gaming market.
Maybe it's time for me to finally invest in a 360 or PS3?Posted at 5:08PM on Jun 14th 2009 by lawrencek
Nah man, don't invest in a console. The games are inferior and they cost more!
My friends and I have been looking forward to this game, but I've just lost all interest in it now. I'm not buying a console game, I'm not paying $10 more for fuzzy graphics and sound.Posted at 5:34PM on Jun 14th 2009 by Crunch Jingles
So 360's 1080p graphics and digital 5.1 sound is fuzzy graphics and sound for you?
About the PC version of Ghostbusters, my biggest problem is not the lack of multiplayer but the Internet authentication. When will they learn to NOT punish their paying customers, as they'll be the only ones who will have to put up with that stupidity. Pirate users will just play with a cracked version with no authentication shit.

Um...You can't remember the last game that left out multiplayer? I can...it had one of the biggest expectations of any game, and yet failed to deliver...
Spore...
Yeah, I couldn't taint any other words with that word in the same line. But at leasr...that game...had some sort of "sharing" thing...and I doubt Ghostbusters for PC will have a single sale if this goes up. Bottom line, go buy L4D.Posted at 7:56PM on Jun 14th 2009 by Jet
"So 360's 1080p graphics and digital 5.1 sound is fuzzy graphics and sound for you?"
Most 1080p 360 games are upscaled. The native resolution for most 360 games is 1280x720 or even lower, like 1024x640 for Call of Duty 4 and 1152x640 for Halo 3.
And many 360 games do appear "fuzzy" to me, since many do not use much texture filtering or any texture filtering at all.Posted at 9:43PM on Jun 14th 2009 by Einhanderkiller
Exactly. No texture filtering, no AA, and I somehow doubt that the 360 is running anything close to decent sound hardware. If it's not running an X-Fi, then it's trash. Also, PCs can run 1200p or higher and we have 7.1 surround, so your 1080p and 5.1 is nothing.Posted at 11:42PM on Jun 14th 2009 by Crunch Jingles
I am most upset at how it was marketed as having multiplayer aspects, and yet not once was it mentioned that the PC version would not support multiplayer co-op.
That seems to me to be a ripoff. Atari needs to come clean and address this.Posted at 12:01AM on Jun 15th 2009 by Ray Stanz
Absolutely outrageous that they would axe multiplayer for ONLY pc. Seriously, wtf?!? Makes no sense what so ever to alienate the users that brought multiplayer to games in the first place. From what it looks like on other sites complaining about same lack of multiplayer on pc, atari has commented that no team/programmers will be working on patching or upgrading pc version at a later date or at any time. So yes, that means not only do pc users not get any multiplayer, but also NO DLC, not now, nor ever! While all the time ps3 and xbox360 will get DLC as well. Seriously, I'm never buying an atari game again, no wonder they lost the console market years ago.....bad business decisions. Good job raping Ghostbusters and ruining it for all those that love it, and for those that still love their pc's. Guess I'll go take out my rage on atari in Left 4 Dead, after all, there's a game that delivered what it PROMISED and so much more! (take a hint atari!)Posted at 2:14PM on Jun 16th 2009 by I'm officially boycotting atari
What you have to remember, that it is only available on PS3 in Europe. The game is exclusive to 360 and PC in North America! This means for those of us in the third largest market, the UK, we are going to have to pay over $50+ to import the game! That's $50+ for a 7 hour game with no multiplayer! This PC game is not only going to bomb in North America for not having multiplayer, sales will be practically non existent in Europe because of the lack of gameplay versus import price as well! i forsaw in my crystal ball that this game will be another spore in term of pirating.Posted at 11:36PM on Jun 19th 2009 by ANDY

Well, they just lost a sale.Posted at 4:27PM on Jun 14th 2009 by Clyde Cash
