Christian bloggers attack EA over E3 Dante's Inferno "protest"
GamePolitcs reports that at least two Christian bloggers have attacked EA's portrayal of the protesters in the stunt. InsideCatholic blooger Margaret Cabaniss states, "It's been clear for a while now that the entertainment inudstry views Christians on the whole as priggish, thin-skinned fun-killers." Meanwhile the Catholic Video Games web site posts up a note saying, "Gamers of all varieties will buy this product if its, well, actually a good game. So instead of engaging in a shamelessly anti-Christian stunt to promote your poor excuse of a product, maybe you ought to work on making this game, you know, something better than a blatant God of War rip-off and make it, ya know, something worthwhile? "

It took 3 days for ppl actually find out that it was a marketing stunt.
Let's think about it.Posted at 10:34PM on Jun 12th 2009 by marcelocollar
after 2000 years they just can't seem to shake that persecution complex.Posted at 10:34PM on Jun 12th 2009 by krome
You know, I've never really liked many christian organizations for the simple fact many of them are overboard about it, to the point where they say its a sin to listen to Papa Roach, and of course, video games.
Then comes some "Christian Gaming" group, and don't you know, they have to make me hate them too... and you know why? I get the impression its some Valley Girl typing it out with all the "you knows" thrown into it...
A blatant God of War would be someone recoloring Kratos, naming him Kronos, and throwing on a bit of hair, and his initial weapon is a set of dual swords hooked together by a chain. That's a blatant ripoff.
I remember reading that the devs liked that people compared the games combat to GoW, and you know why? Because GoW's fighting system is probably one of the most fluid and satisfying there is besides DMC's. The difference between the two is that War focuses on the brutality, while DMC has always been about stylish, flashy, and over-the-top attacks. While Kratos does have some flashy ones, its flashy in the sense of "Holy sh** he just ripped that off and ed it right through that guys .Posted at 12:04AM on Jun 13th 2009 by devilsei

Butthurt christians - they just can't let things slide, can they. There is a reason the stunt was pulled, and thats because certain christian groups protest EVERYTHING. Have a cry all they like; it was a damn fine publicity stunt that showcased a game barely heard of by most gamers (who don't regularly keep up with the news, anyway).
I myself will most likely purchase this game based on that stunt. Kudos to EA's bright and humourous marketing team. And to anybody that wasn't offended by the stunt.
Also, the catholic gamer person should be shot for writing like that. coz, you know, its like, you know, really annoying, you know, when people try and use you knows in a mocking way, you know, but it just ends up being a big pile of shit, you know.
Also, compare it all they like to God of War. It's only because God of War set a standard. Most fantasy MMO's (and even non-fantasy MMOs) are throwbacks to WoW in some respects, yet they can still pull in hundreds of thousands, if not millions of gamers, and be classified as a strong solid game in their own right.Posted at 2:11AM on Jun 13th 2009 by David
I don't know, guys. That first one definitely came off as whiny, but the second one was pure gold win.Posted at 4:26AM on Jun 13th 2009 by Lungkisser
