E3 2009: Protesters go after EA's Dante's Inferno outside convention center

It may be based on a classic work of literature but that didn't stop a handful of protesters from picketing against Electronic Arts' upcoming action game Dante's Inferno outside of the LA Convention Center today during E3 2009. As you can see from the picture above they had a different idea of what "EA" stands for.

The group passed out leaflets to anyone who passed by, identifying themselves as the Salvationists Against Virtual and Eternal Damnation. When asked why go after this game when there are tons of different depictions of Hell in all forms of art, a spokesperson for the group said they are just going after each on a case by case basis. By the way that sound you hear is EA execs smiling over the tons of free publicity these folks are giving the game.

ok, I'm a christ follower and this is stupid. this has got to be some sort of stupid marketing ploy by EA to draw attention to the game. I have a hard time believing people like that were even aware of this game at this point. the gta controvesy never starts building up until very close to the games launch, same thing with manhunt. Yes, this is definitely a publicity stunt by EA or the developer. Look at those posters. No Christian would write those. They look like they were thought-up and drawn by teenagers. "Cheat Codes won't save your soul"? Only a gamer would write that.

Humans are really JUST that stupid, Alex, it is indeed hard to believe, but for confirmation all you have to do is watch shows like Jerry Springer and what-not to see, it is the sad reality (Mostly Americans, course)....

It's funny, when any gaming company makes games about Pagan religions (whether mocking us or not) you don't hear us complaining. We just laugh it off and play the game anyway for the heck of it. It's a poem, a game based off of a poem.
