There have been a ton of novels based on games lately and today Gamasutra is reporting that BioShock could be another title that will have its universe depicted in prose form. The site revealed that a mention in Tor Books' catalog revealed that a BioShock novel, in both hardcover and paperback, is coming this fall.

Oddly the author of the book is listed as Ken Levine who lead the development of the original BioShock game for 2K Games. The article speculates that may mean the book is based on his concept for the game and may not indicate that Levine is actually writing the BioShock novel itself. The only other info about the book is that it is supposed to "take you deeper into the realms" of the BioShock universe. Naturally the book's release is timed to fall into the period of the upcoming sequel BioShock 2.
