Uwe Boll. Even his name can cause the skin to crawl among film and game fans. As a director, he's responsible for some of the worst game-to-movie adaptations of all time (and that's saying something). However, Boll decided to do something a little different for Tunnel Rats. He not only directed the movie (about US soldiers in the Vietnam War) but supervised the making of the game version.
The movie Tunnel Rats hasn't been released stateside yet but this week the Steam service has the game version available for download for $19.99. The first person shooter from developer Replay Studios (creators of the recent WWII stealth action game Velvet Assassin) has you as a US soldier working with a squad to go through tunnels made by the Vietcong. Look for traps, snakes and a crazy German trying to tell you to stand on your mark (ok, we made that last one up but that would actually be pretty cool.
