Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that Champions Online, the super hero MMO from developer Cryptic Studios and publisher Atari, would be released on July 14. Today a new announcement on the game's official web site has revealed that the release date has been pushed back about six weeks to September 1.
The game is currently in beta testing and apparently input from beta testers caused Cryptic to rethink their previous release date plans. According to a statement from the game's design director Bill Roper, " . . . we quickly realized that in order to implement certain features that we all considered important the development of Champions Online would require more time."
