More info on Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes

Last weekend we reported that LucasArts was going to bring their game franchise based on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series to the PC. Today LucasArts revealed even more about the game itself. Developed by Krome Studios, Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heroes will let you fight the separatists as a good Jedi Knight and as a good but ultimately traitorous Clone Trooper.

Jedi Knights in the game can naturally do a lot of light saber-based combat while the Clone Troopers use the heavy weapons and even jet packs to take out opponents. The game, due out in September, is supposed to lead into the season season of the animated series. As we reported earlier the PC version will be a Games For Windows Live title.

This game is reminding me more and more of Jedi Power Battles, which was fun as heck with two people back in the days of PS1 and Dreamcast.

If this game is a "2k9" version of that, I will be pleased.

I enjoy the cartoon, and Star Wars in general (LUCAS STUFF ONLY - none of the "expanded universe" horsecrap), so this is right up my alley.
