If you have been waiting to see how foliage can defeat the undead, your wait is officially over. PopCap Games has just released demo versions of their strategy defense game Plants Vs Zombies. The small 26 MB demo comes in regular PC and Mac flavors for US players. Folks outside the US can get an international PC version as well.
Tomorrow the full version of the game goes on sale and while PopCap Games is selling it for $19.99, Valve's Steam service is offering the same game for just $9.99, a 50 percent difference. Again, you can also get a free game, Heavy Weapon Deluxe, when you pre-order Plants Vs. Zombies via Steam.

Steam is selling it for $10 and it comes with Heavy Weapons for free. Also last time I heard PopCap has a 5 install DRM on it, seems like a no brainer to buy it off Steam.Posted at 2:50PM on May 4th 2009 by Alex

Christ I'm still wondering what the fuss is about. It's fun, for about an hour, then my attention span is looking for something else. I guess if you're *that* easily amused this bastard is great, but me? I'll pass.Posted at 5:35AM on May 9th 2009 by Sean

Man am I glad I waited to play the demo, I find the game to be boring. I can't believe they're charging 20 bones for this.Posted at 2:39PM on May 4th 2009 by Clyde Cash
