This patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky updates the game to v1.5.09 and addresses a number of gameplay issues. Continue reading after the jump for patch notes. The digital patch applies to versions purchased from Direct2Drive and other outlets, but Steam customers are encouraged to use the client's auto-updater.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky version 1.5.09 Patch Notes:

Improved integrated anti-cheating system to take screenshots from the player's screen.
Improved integrated anti-cheating system that allows the remote admins to track the modifications in network game parameters.
1.5.04 - 1.5.08 versions saved games will be compatible with 1.5.09.
Fixed bug with killing the player after respawn.
Improved player-checking system upon connection.
Fixed bug with RPG-7.
Fixed bug in buy menu.
Added new effect High Definition Ambient Occlusion.
Increased the game stability.

Changes of game balance in Multi-player:

Increased damage dealt by "Tunder С14", "SA Avalanche ".
Added possibility to attach scope to "SA Avalanche".
"UDP Compact" pistol now has an increased cartridge (12 bullets).

Are patches really news? I would guess that the majority of games receive a patch in their lifetime.

If the patch's designation goes out to four significant digits, i.e. 1.5.09, does it warrant a place next to updates the continuing saga of Demigod, the possibility of Lost Planet 2 for PC, or Screenshots for SF IV?Posted at 12:47AM on Apr 29th 2009 by Is this news
