It looks like the next big MMO game launch has finally set a date. Reports are coming in from a European based press event that Champions Online will launch in the US and Europe on July 14 from publisher Atari. This is the super hero MMO from Cryptic Studios, which originally created City of Heroes and then later sold that property over to its publisher NCSoft.

Champions Online was officially announced just over a year ago so it's a little unusual to have a major MMO go from announcement to launch so quickly. While the launch date has yet to appear on the game's official web site as of this writing, it does contain new screenshots that we have reproduced and put in our Champions Online gallery.
