So why is Battlefield 1943 not coming out until September for the PC?
The game's producer at Digital Illusions Gordon Van Dyke made a statement on the Battlefield message boards where he tried to quell the horde of angry PC gamers. He states, "PCs are an open platform requiring additional features, support, technical consideration, and can't just be thrown out there using copy/paste. We have thought very carefully about this decision and in the long run felt it was the right choice." He added that they knew the decision would not be popular with fans but added, " . . . we feel once you play the first Frostbite PC game ever from DICE you'll see why we put this extra time and care in on the development making all right again in the universe."

Agreed. And it doesn't feel good eitherPosted at 9:19PM on Apr 23rd 2009 by Game_playa
Goddammit... Now that all the money is in consoles, we are getting boned. I mean I understand putting GoW on console first, it was at least originally a console game... but Battlefield was originally a PC game, and an awesome one at that. Screw EA. Posted at 11:24PM on Apr 23rd 2009 by Reader
Meh. Not surprised or upset by this one. Don't really care. And yes, I love BF2 and all that, but really, it's not a big deal.Posted at 1:39AM on Apr 24th 2009 by Gripen40k
I think that BF1493 was made with the console in mind and its only a remake of the original and in BF1943 you can only have a small amount of players in the same server whils BF: BC2 will be made with the pc in mind with huge scale battles and alot of playes.Posted at 7:26AM on Apr 24th 2009 by heromilkshake
Treated as second class? If you act like children, you will be treated as such. You cry that the PC games are mostly console ports; so when a classically PC dev decides to delay the PC version to make sure it's up to the standards the "fans" require, what do you do? YOU STILL CRY!!!Posted at 2:14AM on Apr 25th 2009 by MrKlorox
^^^^ can eat a dickPosted at 1:16AM on Apr 27th 2009 by whatever
well, your all wrong here,(all of those who are saying oh were second class they hate us and so on and so forth)
seriously how can you think that?? look at every pc bf game, then look at the consoles versions, pc versions are godlike in comparison, by default. you hear of a pc bf game and a console version, you KNOW the pc version will ultimately dominate the console versions.
the frostbite engine was made for consoles, not pc's they need to refine, expand, everything, if they follow traditional bf suit, we will get mod tools and map editors. how fantastic would that be? grow up already, as someone else said, most pc gamers btch and complain that all pc games are just ports of console games, but then we get a dev doing extra work to maker the pc game not a port, and you all btch and whine that they hate you? how the hell does that make sense?
then theres the whole screw ea thing about turning bf into a console game, no, your just aweful. again, the engine was made for consoles, now it is being refined for pc's, and hopefully bf3 which was just officially mentioned will use similar technology.
i agree we do get somewhat boned, but blame the people who are out there only to break and hack games for pc. devs want a surefire way to get their monies worth from a game, and putting it on console is the way to go.
and to whoever said bfbc2 is going to be made with pc in mind, again your dead wrong, its, AGAIN made for a console, and refined for pc, but by the time bfbc2 rolls around, the games engine will have been refined from the delay of 1943 already, and will be able to at least be released at the same time as console. if not earlierPosted at 12:16AM on Jun 19th 2009 by dbag111
They still need to release on all 3 platforms same time with these games. If infinity ward can do it with call of duty and it still be qaulity on all 3 then EA can do it. Look at modern warfare 2 coming November 11th. Releasing on all 3 platforms simultaneously but no other game can what's up? I understand refining a game for PC and all that goes into it. But these popular games come out and the PC version gets pushed back a couple months makes us exclusive PC gamers angry and tend to forget about the game by the time it's finally released...example Red Faction Guerilla for PC. How many have already forgotten about the PC release for it on Aug 25th? Posted at 8:13PM on Jul 8th 2009 by BarryL
Who cares about a small game like this? BF3 is what i wan't and if they make that shit for consoles first and then pc. Well then they can just fuck off and i will never look at dice or ea!Posted at 12:16PM on Jul 12th 2009 by DarkMx1000
Sadly disapointed ,,,,might even make me not play bf shit again!!Posted at 9:08PM on Jul 21st 2009 by hondo

You can't throw anything on 360 or PS3 with copy/paste either, but they sure as hell wouldn't delay one of those versions in favor of the PC version. Ever. They'd delay all versions in order to make console releases simultaneous.
We're treated as second-class, plain and simple.Posted at 9:13PM on Apr 23rd 2009 by Sokkratez
