Fallout: New Vegas announced

In a surprise announcement, Bethesda Softworks has revealed that they will be publishing an all new game set in their Fallout 3 game universe. The game is called Fallout: New Vegas and will be developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who developed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights II and its two expansion packs and the upcoming Alpha Protocol.Many of the Obsidian team members worked on the first two Fallout RPGs at Interplay's now defunct Black Isle Studios.

The RPG title is due out for the PC and other platforms sometime in 2010. So far no other details have been revealed (although the game's title gives a pretty strong hint as to its setting). Our sister site Joystiq is at the press event where the game was announced and we will certainly relay some more info as it comes in.

kinda dissapointed that they just decided to copy fallouts reno and just slap "new" in front of it, but I am interested to see what the west rendered in f3's engine will look like, they gotsta be careful, because now they're messing with existing territory, i'm sure fanboys will measure distances between cities and start saying things like "city 1 and city 2 are farther apart in fallout 2 than they are in F:NV! how dare they!"Posted at 12:05PM on Apr 20th 2009 by Sam
