Hot on the heels of last week's release of the Mission Architect update for
City of Heroes, publisher
NCsoft has renamed the super hero MMO's dev team. Previously known by the rather generic NCSoft NorCal, the Mountain View, CA based dev team will now be called
Paragon Studios.
Since breaking off from the game's original developer
Cryptic Studios in the fall of 2007, the
City of Heroes development team has expanded from 20 people to 50 team members while continuing to support and provide free update to the MMO. With the rebranding of the team as Paragon Studios its general manager Brian Clayton states that the team will
" . . . . continue providing high quality experiences for
City of Heroes and any future projects that come from Paragon Studios." The renaming of the studio comes the same week that a new retail version of
City of Heroes heads to stories, containing all of the game's content including the Mission Architect features.
