We've been waiting to get our hands on this game for a long time and now we can confirm that it will just be a couple of more months before Prototype is finally released. Publisher Activision has confirmed that the open world action game will ship to stores in the US on June 9. The folks in Europe get the game a little earlier; it ships for that territory on June 5.
The game from developer Radical Entertainment is yet another example of a major AAA title being released in the normally slow spring/summer time period for games. It's another sign that game publishers are being more flexible and are allowing games to be released at nearly any time of the year rather than wait until the fourth quarter for their release.
